There are two main ferry operators:
NorthLink Ferries – 90-minute crossing
NorthLink Ferries sail between Scrabster (near Thurso) and Stromness. The ferry trminal is about a 10-minute drive from Forss House Hotel.
Pentland Ferries – 60-minute crossing
Pentland Ferries sail between Gill's Bay (near John o'Groats) and St Margaret's Hope in South Ronaldsay - 60 minute crossing. The ferry terminal is about a 30-minute drive from Forss House Hotel.
